Alice Smith showing some art

On 10th December we held an online version of the training event that we had planned to use to showcase the importance of using the arts to support wellbeing in the workplace and in the community. It was attended by people working as Occupational Therapists, both in the community and on mental health wards, as well as people from relevant charities.

Over the 2 hour Zoom session we showed a video of participants working with artist Alice Smith to create simple but effective prints as well as having a number of discussions about what the benefits of art for wellbeing are, and how it can be used in various settings.

Thank you to everyone who attended and took part in the discussions. We hope to follow this up with further showcase and training events as well as more collaborative projects to bring our artists into settings where they can have a positive effect on people’s wellbeing.
