A big THANK YOU to everyone who attended yesterdays #NurtureNetwork Artist Skill-Share and Wellbeing day yesterday!

We had a full room with 23 participants, which made for some really special sharing and connecting. It really was a wonderful chance to look inward, focus on ourselves and meet other like-minded people – which we know goes a long way in looking after our own wellbeing.

We had a packed morning of quick visual arts for wellbeing activities, where the artists were encouraged to reflect on and take inspiration from. After a long lunch – for connecting! – we spent the afternoon looking inwards, checking in on ourselves and sharing with each other. Artists were also invited to the ongoing shared online resource for Nurture Network – a shared folder of lesson plans, resources and contacts to support and inspire freelance artists when they may be feeling isolated, burned out or unmotivated.

Nurture Network and it’s resources are open to anyone working in arts, health and wellbeing in Gwent. Please contact: engage@inside-out-cymru.org to find out more!

‘Some lovely connections made and a fab network of activities to use – excited for the network to grow!’

‘It was great to be with others in the same boat, knowing your experience is shared is so comforting.’

‘This type of event is so important for freelancers! Gives us opportunities that employed people take for granted. It should happen so much more! It would make for a stronger workforce.’

Thank you to the artists who facilitated the day – Sarah Goodey, Lisa Floyd Bill Chambers, Soul Creative Circle and Manuela Niemetscheck.

Thank you to The Twyn Community Centre for having us and to Plant2plate Gluten Free Catering for feeding us.

And thank you to Cyngor Celfyddydau Cymru | Arts Council of Wales for funding the session and the ongoing shared resources through the Sharing Together fund.
