From January to July 2022, Caerphilly Arts Development and Inside Out Cymru invited women between the ages of 16 and 25 to attend Blackwood Miner’s Insitute on Mondays at 5.30pm to engage with 4 professional artists and 4 different artforms! This group was open to members of the LGBTQ+ community and provides a safe space to come together, talk, be heard, share and create.
The project has been very successful. The impact this work has had on the core participants has been very deep. Participants enjoyed the openness and creativity of the sessions, and left with a greater willingness to share, a healthy way of expressing their emotions and with motivation to get into hobbies and interests.
