At the beginning of October, printmaker Bill Chambers delivered a 2 hour arts workshop on Cedar Parc Ward in Ysbyty’r Tri Chwm in Blaenau Gwent.
The relief printing workshop was calm, productive and ‘failure-free’, with printmaking’s experimental process proving well for beginners. Making art through the medium of printmaking adds in a middle-man, a kind of unknowing of how things will turn out, which not only lifts spirits and increased curiosity, but supports growth and understanding of things like emotional processing, decision-making and risk-taking.
Inside Out Cymru and Ysbyty’r Tri Chwm are capitalising on the positive feedback from the service users and support staff, looking to work together on an ongoing basis for the near future.
Well done Bill and everyone who made the impressive work that’s inspired us so much!
