Inside Out Cymru is proud to announce the completion of Create: Community Champions, a participatory community arts project delivered across Torfaen in 2025 in partnership with Building Resilient Communities Torfaen.

Funded by The National Lottery Awards for All, the project brought accessible creative opportunities directly into local communities. Across the year, 48 creative workshops took place in three venues, engaging 26 participants in a wide range of artistic activities.

Participants highlighted both the creative and personal impact of the project. One said:
“I had never done printing before, but now I am totally hooked… it’s been so good to have a place to take part in an activity with people who are just like me.”
 Another added:
“I loved that whatever mood I came in, I always left with a smile on my face.”

Eight participants progressed to our confidence-building course in facilitating creative activities, with three going on to start peer-support groups or gain paid community arts work – clear evidence of creativity’s impact on wellbeing and empowerment.
