Inside Out Cymru have secured funding to offer free inclusive music and singing for togetherness sessions in Caerphilly!

The Gwendoline and Margaret Davies Charity have very kindly funded a total of 44 music sessions at Bedwas Workmen’s Hall! With a focus on inclusivity, togetherness and wellbeing, the sessions will offer more than 12 individuals and 528 engagements over the year. Working closely with Caerphilly local authority and other service providers, Inside Out Cymru will bring together people from diverse lived experiences.

One past participant reflects on how the sense of inclusion makes her feel. She says:

“I enjoy that I get to spend time with other people, especially a group that are as fun and enthusiastic as the choir in Bedwas. I enjoy seeing everyone be included, it’s lovely to be a part of that.”

Another participant talks about how learning new songs makes them feel closer to other people:

“I like learning new songs- songs in other languages like Ukrainian or Croatians which I find especially interesting as I am interested in getting to know other people”.

With thanks to the wonderful Wendy Lewis, our music session lead and choirmaster , the sessions will build on an already established but small community of music-lovers around Bedwas.
